Number 1 on the Check for Pet Test

What is the CheckForPet award?

CheckForPet is an independent platform in Germany where dog and cat owners rate the food they give their pets, from 1 to 5 stars. It is not a lab test or a rating by the brand: it is the opinion of thousands of owners, based on everyday life with their pet.

Every year, the brands with the best ratings receive the “Best Rated Pet Food” seal. In 2026, 108 dog food brands were rated. PLATINUM ranked No. 1 for dogs (for the eighth year in a row) and No. 1 for cats with MeatCrisp (for the fourth year in a row).

How it works

1Owners ratePeople who buy the food give it a score from 1 to 5 stars, based on real experience with their dog or cat.
2Ratings are comparedCheckForPet collects the ratings and compares brands on overall satisfaction, value for money and ingredients.
3The best gets the sealThe brand with the highest satisfaction receives that year’s “Best Rated Pet Food” seal, which helps other owners choose.

Why does it matter to you? A seal given by other owners says more than advertising: it shows the food works in everyday life, year after year.
